India, Pakistan & South Korea movies shortlists in Oscars 2023

The 15-film shortlist was revealed by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. This year, films from 92 nations and areas were examined.

Films from four Asian countries:- Pakistan, Cambodia, India, and South Korea – have been nominated for Best International Feature Film at the 2023 Academy Awards.

The International Feature Film Nominating Committee will choose only five films from the shortlist to become category nominees.

Each country and zone is only allowed to submit one film per year.

Pakistan submitted "Joyland" by Saim Sadiq for the upcoming Oscars. "Return to Seoul" by Davy Chou was submitted by Cambodia. Park Chan "Decision to Leave" was submitted by South Korea.

"Last Film Show" by Pan Nalin was submitted by India. This is notable as the first time an Indian film has made the shortlist since "Lagaan" in 2002.

'Avatar 2' and 'Black Panther' are added to the Oscars shortlist.
