SLATE KEY CITY — In USA Today’s 2021 Travel Awards, Salt Lake City is up for “Best Ski Town” in the country.
An expert team chose the city, according to a press statement from Visit Salt Lake. Skiing accessibility, city environment, and city facilities including restaurants, entertainment, and bars are among the contest criteria.

Locals in Salt Lake shouldn’t be surprised by the nomination, as they have unrivaled access to The Greatest Snow on Earth®. The Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons, home to Alta, Snowbird, Brighton, and Solitude, are only a 35-minute drive from downtown. Each year, the famed snow in Utah averages 500″.
